About

And I cross it. For eleven years I have designed and built software for science: tools for the people running clinical trials, tuning models, and working with real biological and patient data.

I have been the founding designer at four companies: Stratasys, Ovation, TetraScience, and Rhino FCP. That is not a line on a resume: it is a skill. A founding designer inherits no design system, no component library, and no engineering team that already trusts them. They build all three from nothing while the product is still changing shape. I have done that four times.

Almost all of it has been in life sciences, pharma, healthcare, & additive manufacturing — a domain where the interface is not decoration. A confusing screen can slow a trial or mislead a researcher, so clarity is the whole job.

I do not stop at the design file. I research the problem, design the interface, and build the front end that ships, code reviews and all. When a design meets the constraints of real code and real data, I am already the one in there solving it, not waiting on a handoff.

That is the value of working the seam instead of picking a side: nothing gets lost in translation, because there is no translation. What I ship is what I designed.

I am looking for a full-time, principal-level role on a product team that wants a designer who can also build.

I’m based in Vermont, and when I’m not in Figma or a codebase I’m by a lake, on a mountain, or on a trail in the woods.

How I work

01

I cross the handoff

I research the problem, design the interface, and build the front end that ships. When design meets real code and real data, I'm already in there solving it.

02

Clarity is the job

In life sciences, a confusing screen can slow a trial or mislead a researcher. The interface is not decoration. Clarity is the whole job.

03

I speak engineer

I work closely with engineers and speak their language. Less lost in translation, more shipped.

What I build with

Design tools and a real codebase, used together. I prototype in Figma and ship in production React, so the work I show is the work that runs.
